BotsRanked is an independent small-business team. We test AI phone receptionists the way an owner would: we set them up with a real-looking business, call them, and publish what happened. AI receptionists are our first category. Other kinds of bots will follow.
Why we exist
Most "best AI receptionist" lists are written by the vendors themselves, or rank products without calling them. We run small businesses too, and we want to know which ones handle the calls that matter: the booking, the emergency at 10 PM, the caller who wants a human.
How we test
- Each product gets the same fake business and the same five scripted calls for its industry.
- Every call is scored on the same published rubric. Made-up facts score zero.
- We retest every month, and every result carries its date and the type of account we used.

Testing starts once our test phone line is set up. Until then, vendor pages list published facts only.
The recording notice
Every test call opens with: "Hi, this is a test call from BotsRanked, and it's being recorded." We publish the recordings and transcripts so you can hear the calls yourself instead of taking our word for it.
Independence
- No vendor pays us for a place in our lineup, a score or a review.
- We have no paid placements and no affiliate deals today. If that changes, our disclosure page will list who pays us and how.
- Vendors can't see our scripts before a round.
Corrections
Found a mistake? Email us. We check it against the vendor's page or our recording, fix it and log the fix with a date.
