Privacy policy

The short version

• Right now the site sets no cookies and runs no analytics or ads.
• We don't sell personal data. We never will.
• Our test calls go to vendors' own demo and trial lines, not to their customers.
• Questions go to [email protected].

What we collect today

Server logs. Like most websites, our web server keeps standard request logs: your IP address, the page you asked for, the time, your browser type and the page that sent you. We use them to keep the site running and to stop abuse. We don't use them to build a profile of you, and we delete them on a regular schedule.

Email. If you write to us, we keep your message and address so we can reply and keep a record of corrections. We don't add you to a mailing list.

That's it. There are no accounts, forms, comments or sign-ups on the site.

Cookies and consent

The site uses Google Consent Mode v2. By default, every signal is set to denied: ad storage, ad user data, ad personalization and analytics storage. Nothing that needs your consent runs until you give it.

If we add analytics or ads, we'll add a consent banner first where the law requires one. You'll be able to accept or refuse, and change your mind later. Refusing won't block any page.

Analytics

We don't run analytics yet. If we add a tool such as Google Analytics, it will load only after consent where consent is required. We'll use it to count visits and see which pages help people. We'll name the tool here before it goes live.

Ads

We don't show ads. If we add Google AdSense later, Google and its partners may use cookies to show ads and measure them, and to personalize ads if you agree. You can manage Google ad personalization at adssettings.google.com, and read how Google uses data from sites that use its services at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites. Ads will never sit inside a score or a recording.

Affiliate links

We have no affiliate deals today. If we join a vendor's program, links to that vendor will go through a short redirect on our site (an address that starts with /go/). The vendor's site may then set its own cookie to record that you came from us. That cookie is the vendor's, under the vendor's privacy policy. Our disclosure page will list every vendor that pays us.

Test-call recordings

We record our test calls and publish the recordings and transcripts. Every call opens with: "Hi, this is a test call from BotsRanked, and it's being recorded." The calls go to vendors' demo and trial lines, set up with a fake business and fictional contact details. They don't involve vendors' customers.

If a call reaches a real person, we stop unless they agree to the recording. Before we publish, we remove any personal details we find. Our test plan has the full rules.

Who we share data with

We don't sell or rent personal data. We share it only with the services that run the site, such as our hosting and email providers, and only so they can do that job. If the law requires us to hand something over, we will.

Your choices

You can ask us what we hold about you, ask us to correct it or ask us to delete it. Email [email protected] and we'll reply. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser at any time.

Children

The site is for business owners. It isn't aimed at children, and we don't knowingly collect data from anyone under 13.

Changes

When this policy changes, we'll update the date at the top. Big changes, like turning on analytics or ads, will be listed here before they go live.
